Free CI failure report: what breaks your pipelines

Paste your CI run history and get the top failure causes, failure rate, and minutes per workflow, including minutes spent on failed runs.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your data is read on your device and never uploaded: this page has no cookies and no third-party trackers; at most it sends us anonymous counts (a page view, and that a result was shown), never your data. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.

How to use it

  1. PrepareExport runs as CSV with the columns workflow, status, duration_minutes, failure_reason (see the GitHub CLI tip below).
  2. RunPick the file or paste it below and press Analyze. Tokens and keys that slip into the file are redacted first.
  3. ActFix the top causes first; they cost the most reruns and minutes.

Use the tool

GitHub Actions export with the GitHub CLI and jq (runs on your machine; failure_reason left empty for you to fill in):
gh run list -L 200 --json workflowName,conclusion,startedAt,updatedAt | jq -r '["workflow","status","duration_minutes","failure_reason"], (.[] | [.workflowName, .conclusion, (((.updatedAt|fromdate) - (.startedAt|fromdate)) / 6 | round / 10), ""]) | @csv' > runs.csv

status values failed, failure and timed_out count as failures. duration_minutes must be 0 to 10080.

Honest limits

Same rules as the Pipeline Insights engine. The CSV is a normalized input; live GitHub Actions integration is part of the beta app.

BETA This free tool is part of the Pipeline Insights beta. It is free, with no signup, and stays free. The full product (saved history, schedules, alerts) is in free early access: see what Pipeline Insights does.
